Second-Round Call for Applications for Support of Scientific and Creative Activities Aimed at Developing Academic Disciplines within the Cooperatio MCOM/LITE Programme

Who can apply for support?

Academic staff of FHS UK who participate in the Cooperatio MCOM/LITE program at FHS UK may apply for support by submitting the application form together with the relevant supporting documents (e.g., manuscript, publishing contract, confirmation of acceptance of an article for publication).

Ph.D. students participating in the Cooperatio MCOM/LITE program may also apply for support. Applications submitted by Ph.D. students must be accompanied by written approval from their supervisor. Applications submitted without the supervisor’s written approval will not be considered.

Which projects can be supported under this call?

Types of projects supported:

  • Publication of an article/paper/monograph,

  • travel (participation in a conference, research and study stay, etc., which should result in a publication),

  • purchase of materials and equipment necessary for scientific and creative activities,

  • purchase of services (translation, proofreading, graphic or editorial work, etc.),

  • scholarships for scientific activities

  • membership fees for professional societies, subscriptions to professional journals, conference fees, etc.

Terms

The deadline for applications in this round is 5 October 2026.

Applicants will be notified by email of the outcome of their application no later than 9 October 2026. If an application is successful, the email will also include instructions on how to proceed with the use of the allocated funds.

Application method

1. Complete the application form.

2. Send the completed application form, together with all relevant supporting documents (e.g., manuscript, publishing contract, confirmation of acceptance of the article for publication, and, in the case of Ph.D. students, a written statement from the supervisor supporting the application), to .

3. Use “MCOM/LITE – 2nd Round” as the subject line of the email.

Instructions for completing the application form

Applications submitted under this call must be made using the application form and include the following information:


1. Applicant’s first name and surname


2. Other persons involved

Please list any other persons involved in the project (in the case of Ph.D. students, their supervisor; other collaborators from FHS UK; or service providers such as translators, proofreaders, graphic designers, etc., if already known).


3. Department

State the name of the department at which the applicant works or studies.


4. Cooperatio programme

Please specify the Cooperatio programme under which the applicant is applying for financial support.

5. Project title

Please provide the title or name of the project (e.g., the title of an article or monograph; in the case of a business trip, the name of the conference; in the case of membership, the name of the academic or professional association, etc.).


6. Brief description of the proposed project and timetable

Provide a brief description of the proposed activity leading to a scientific or creative output, with particular emphasis on the planned publication output, together with a timetable for its implementation.

In the case of a business/study trip to attend a conference or workshop, please provide the name of the event, its location and country, and the start and end dates of the trip. Please note that the travel dates may differ from the dates of the conference or workshop to allow for travel time.


7. Description of the planned publication or other reportable output

Please describe the planned publication or other reportable output and indicate the year in which it is expected to be published, as well as the journal or publishing house in which/by which it will be published. Publications are the preferred form of scientific output.

If the application concerns costs associated with making a publication available at the final stage of preparation (e.g., publishing costs, royalties, peer review, or Open Access fees), applicants are encouraged to attach documents supporting the application, such as the manuscript of the work to be supported, a publishing contract, confirmation of acceptance of an article for publication, or other relevant documentation.


8. Total amount requested

Please state the total amount requested in CZK only. If any expenses are expected to be incurred in a foreign currency, use the current exchange rate published by the Czech National Bank (ČNB) when completing the application form.


9. Brief justification of the requested funds

Please provide a brief justification for the funds requested, taking economic efficiency into consideration when planning the expenditure.

If the budget includes more than one item, please provide an itemised breakdown.

If your application involves a payment abroad, please take the following into account:

  • Purchase of a book from abroad: add 10% of the book price (VAT).

  • Purchase of any other goods from abroad: add 21% of the price of the goods (VAT).

  • Publication of a book abroad: add 21% of the total price (VAT).

  • Registration fee for a foreign conference attended online: add 21% of the registration fee (VAT).

If you attend an event (conference, workshop, etc.) abroad in person, no additional VAT needs to be added. The same applies to accommodation abroad (e.g., when attending a conference or conducting field research abroad).

If your application involves a study/business trip, please note the following:

In the case of study/business trips, academic staff employed by FHS UK are legally entitled to a meal allowance at the applicable rate. This must therefore be taken into account when preparing the budget. Please consult the information provided on the website of the Department of Business Travel.

Persons who are not employed by FHS UK (e.g., students) are not entitled to meal allowances; these expenses therefore cannot be included when preparing their travel budget.


IMPORTANT: Travel orders are processed electronically only. Expenses incurred before the travel order has been fully approved cannot be reimbursed. This means that tickets, accommodation, or other travel-related expenses must not be purchased before the travel order has been fully approved.

Application assessment process

Submitted applications are assessed by Cooperatio Board board consisting of FHS UK representatives in the relevant Cooperatio LITE and MCOM programmes.

The Board reserves the right to request any additional information it considers relevant to the assessment of an application.

The Board decides whether to approve or reject applications for funding and may make adjustments to the proposed budgets.
